Meet The Designer
BakeBella is a high quality bespoke cake business run by myself Abby, a life-long baker and lover of all things cake based from my home in Wokingham, Berkshire. My kitchen is registered with Wokingham Borough Council and I have a Food Hygiene Rating of 5.
Since childhood I have had a passion for baking, spending countless weekends baking with my mum (who was also a cake decorator) or learning how to make scones and pastry with my Nan. The older I became the stronger my love for baking grew which led me to my first venture into self-employment at the age of 19 with My Cupcake Box. I quickly developed an eye for perfection and subsequently perfected my skills with sugarcraft courses at college, in addition to online and self-taught techniques.
After a few years of trial and error, armed with new skills and experience I changed names to BakeAbella created from merging my own name and my younger sister's name Ella (Abella) then popping 'bake' on the front to give it that short catchy name I was looking for.
I successfully ran BakeAbella for 5 years before taking a 3 year hiatus to start up and manage Penny Blacks Coffee House in St Johns Village, Woking. I still baked everyday, creating delicious brownies, layer cakes, traybakes & cookies which were such a big hit with our customers that you'd often find me baking at 9pm just so we could keep up with the demand!
Now, with over a decade of professional experience and relocation to a new area I decided to re-launch my cake business (with a slight name change) and get back to what I love doing most.
Over the years I have constantly been praised on the level of detail I put into all of my cakes, so I guess the beauty is truly in the baking!
