Wedding Cake Servings

What size cake do I need is probably the most frequently asked question when it comes to ordering a wedding cake and the majority of couples tend to assume they need a huge cake to feed their guest numbers but in reality, your wedding cake can actually go quite a long way!

 

The main point to consider is whether you would like to serve your cake as dessert at your wedding breakfast or as part of your evening reception - this will determine what size and cake tier arrangement will work best.

Wedding Reception: cakes are most commonly served as a finger portion of 1x1x5 inches

 

Wedding Breakfast: usually a dessert portion of 1x2x5 inches

Did you know...

You can freeze your cake-overs (yes, that is the technical name for leftover cake) - just cut any leftover cake into slices, wrap them individually with cling film and pop them in the freezer. When you fancy a slice, take it out of the freezer and allow it to thaw to room temperature et voilà, you get to taste a sweet reminder of your wedding day!
